
Those participating in the race called, TUBERS, register at Jenkinson's on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach. They are assigned a race number, and tuber's briefed on the particulars of the race. The tuber are required to supply their own U.S. Coast Guard approved Life Vest and automobile tire tube. Registration starts at 10am of Tube Race Day.
The tube race will starts at 2:30 pm on Tube Day, 3rd Sunday in September on Jenkinson's Beach at the head of Water Street right in front of the Atlantic Ocean, Pt. Pleasant Beach, NJ. The tubers report to the race site following the Tube Race Parade, approximately one half hour before the start of the race. At this time, race officials check equipment and inflate their inner tubes.
The start of the tube race will be
signaled by cannon fire or other announced signal. Tubers will run from the
starting point to the Atlantic Ocean and enter the water in the normal confused
tuber fashion. Once in the water, tubers will assume the tubing position by
sitting in the tube and paddling backwards and attempt to paddle out
around all the markers and back to shore. Then run to the finish line with
their tube to complete the race course.

Upon completion of the race, an order of finish number will be handed to tubers who are lucky enough to emerge from the water at the Finish Line!
EVERYONE IS ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE*/WATCH THE TUBE RACE PARADE. The parade will form one hour before it's 1:00 PM starting time in the parking lot in Point Pleasant Railway Station on Arnold Ave. and proceed up Arnold to Ocean and North to Broadway! Be there early!
